Eliza's Library
Several family members have mentioned that it might be nice to have a list of Eliza's books. So here it is, Eliza's current holdings listed alphabetically by title. We will update this list as her library grows and have created a link to it on the side of the page so it can be found easily.

A cute video of Eliza's newest trick--standing almost unsupported. She's changing so fast!!!

Teeth and wagons and colds, oh my!
Happy Valentine's Day!!
These pictures are from a playgroup at one of Eliza's friends' houses. Her mom used to run a home daycare, so she has pretty much the best playroom in the entire world, complete with full-size chalkboard and tons of seasonal decorations!
So much has happened in Eliza's life in the past few weeks. In late January, she came down with her first bad cold, leading her and Mommy to be quarantined for almost two weeks! During that time, her first two teeth (the bottom center two) came in, and Mommy's friend Alex visited. Eliza apparently has decided that Alex is the coolest person in the world, because her very entry into a room elicits immediate and unstoppable laughter and huge smiles. Here are some pictures of them together:
The other huge development in Eliza's life is that she is getting more and more mobile everyday. She scootches all over the place on her butt, and using a push-toy she can walk herself (and even some cargo!) around the apartment in no time. She can also "cruise" (walk holding onto furniture, the wall, etc) with the best of them. We sense that toddlerdom is coming quickly!
Here is Eliza, on February 2nd, when she was first learning to use her wagon to walk to Alex.
And here is Eliza last Sunday (just 8 days later!), transporting her favorite cargo--Mathias!

Adventures in Cheerios, and other fun
Eliza and her friend Mathias hang out twice a week, on Wednesday and Friday afternoons. Yesterday, they shared some cheerios:
Eliza has become much more adventurous with what she eats. She now vastly prefers (diced by Mom) finger foods to spoon-feeding. Recent favorites include: red bell peppers, cameo apples, veggie burgers, turkey-cheddar burgers, and swiss cheese. The kid has good taste!
Here's a picture of her sitting around, which is kind of silly but also cute:

She has also started chatting up a storm. In addition to the "dada" and "baba" type of babytalk, she also uses a gibberish that sounds like a real (but unknown) language. However, she's a tad camera-shy, so it might be a while before it's captured on video!
She is just crazy about Dada these days. Here's a cute picture of them together:

Walkin' on video -- and many more pictures!
Eliza's new favorite pastime:
She loves walking... "all she wants to do is walk!"
Here are some assorted pictures from our wonderful time in Texas:

Eliza with Uncle John:

Eliza (out of picture) staring at Uncle Dan -- "hey, he's got my hat!"

Eliza loves her presents...

...and she loves her Aunt Judy!

Who's Feeding Who?
Yes, it's been way too long! We've been traveling -- we spent two weeks in Texas -- a wonderful, relaxing time in Dallas with family, and some research time in Austin with Lyndon Johnson (who feels like family now too).
Eliza is doing great. She laughs all the time and likes to talk -- and try out new consonant sounds. She's walking -- albeit with the help of a couple of adult fingers. But she LOVES to walk around. And she's feeding herself now, mainly Cheerios. She loves to eat, play, talk, laugh, and SLEEP. Yes, thank the Lord, she's still a wonderful sleeper.
More pictures are coming soon -- from Texas and otherwise. But here's a quick little something in the meantime. Tonight Eliza took a big step beyond feeding herself Cheerios -- now she's feeding her parents Cheerios!
...Well at least she does when she's not feeling camera-shy. Anyway, that's her cute little laugh when she's feeling entertained.
More soon...
